Wow it has been so long since I posted. I have been super super busy. I was really excited about this new label that I designed for one of our clients I just had to share. Once this label is woven it is going to look so cool!! The big pay in the front will be a metallic gold and the fading paws in the background should translate really well to make a awesome branding label. The client is really happy with the label and I can't wait for her to see the final product.

With this label the client wanted pastel blues and pinks. After designing the label in different fonts and styles the client decided that it was to childish and their target was not just children. But it was definitely the colors that made it give a too youthful appearance. So after several samples we went with a more adult approach...And YAY we hit the nail on the head!!!

I think it came out pretty awesome, although I have to say it would make a really cool New Years Eve bash invitation.

Scoot the Goose - Clothing label and logo

Just finished another logo/clothing label. Karen drew out the goose which turned out absolutely adorable. It is a sillouhette but what great detail. Working with Cassandra was so easy and smooth. She returned emails quickly and made the process move along. Best of all Cassandra was so easy to please, after only the second proof she was happy as a "Goose" LOL yeah I know, LAME LAME LAME. I am really glad to have been able to help Cassandra with her logo and her labels and am looking forward to helping her with anything that she may need in the future.

God I have been busy busy busy!!!! Who's complaining though, that is a GREAT thing. I have not been posting much, many of the big jobs I am working on are still in the designing phase and are not ready for posting. I have been done quite a few clothing labels which you can see.

Another project I am SUPER excited about. I connected with a gentleman named Gary who originally wanted to purchase clothing labels through clothinglabels4u.com and we got to talking about designing some media stuff for a big High School All Star Football game being held in Utah in December. Well we talked and we talked some more, I submitted a proposal and it was decided that we were going to work together on the project. I am so very excited.

So part 1 of the project was a little unexpected, he wanted to do a trial run so that we were all on the same page and that I knew what was expected of me. They wanted to give away some tickets but since the tickets are not designed or printed yet they decided they were going to use a voucher to give away to redeem for the tickets and they wanted me to design it. Well being totally excited I got started right away!!. With few changes we came up with the final image

This event is going to huge. 5 of the top football players from each of the High Schools are invited to participate in this All Star Football Game. Each player will be able to put on their game face and have an opportunity to shine and take their football game to another level beyond High School.

Cherie Compton was referred to me by clothinglabels4u.com. Cherie needed a label for scarves that they crochet for members of their congregation who have lost loves ones or who are very sick. The scarf is a symbol of warmth and caring and they wanted to a label that explained that the scarves were made for this reason. Cherie was such a pleasure to work with. I have not had the opportunity to thank Lisa at http://www.clothinglabels4u.com/ for all that she has done and is doing for me. Lisa is truly the one that single handedly made my business what it is today, without her I would still be waisting alot of valuable time surfing the net trying to find ways to advertise, basically sitting here waiting for opportunity to just show up at my door. Lisa gave me my big break over a year ago just by adding my link to her website to do some freelance graphic design for her customers who did not have designs or logos. Well it was slow going but now I do other things for Lisa as well a year later and my graphic design business is booming. I got in contact with Lori when she tried contacting Clothinglabels4u.com for some free samples for her new hats for little girls. Lori is so outgoing with a great personality, we connected instantly. Lori designs blingy hats for little girls and they are simply adorable!!

Shaniqua contacted me while looking to create a label for her new clothing line. Shaniqua came up with this ingenious idea of cutting up tshirts. Shaniqua is building a name for herself and has a quickly growing business.
This logo and label design was illustrated by our very own Karen. Karen did an unbelievable job with this logo and really nailed it for Shaniqua. Shaniqual loves the design and can't wait to get it on her tshirts. You will also be able to see the design on Shaniqua's tshirts during a live pay per view event happening on the July 31st. We are all excited for Shaniqua and hope that it brings her lots of business.

Steak N Potatoes

Ok so you know that I answer the phones for Lisa at Clothinglabels4u.com, well 1 night I got a phone call from gentleman name David. Very very high energy. He told me he was coming up with a pants line called Steak and Potatoes. Ok so what would you think? Well David sent me over this image to work with. I needed to remove the steak and the potato from the background and remove the utensils.And came up with these. The Steak almost looks like it is giving the peace sign, looks so funny. Which is actually the type of thing David was shooting for. His thought is to spruce up some boring old pants and add a twist of humor to the label. We are getting that for sure, LOL.

Now although the project is not yet complete it is definitely worth bringing it into the blog. I think once the label is done it is going to look awesome!!!

So there was a point in time where I was into MonaVie. It seemed like such an awesome product at the time. And it is an awesome product, the problem was that you had to invest alot of money to get started. Unfortunately money is something that I didn't have then and still don't have now. My husband drank MonaVie for a month and in that month he never had a migraine. He has serious immobilizing migraines at least 2 times a month and while he was drinking MonaVie he had manageable headaches. Well during the time of my MonaVie excursion I created my own business cards and I also designed and printed a car magnet,

and flyers to pass around. I thought they all came out really cool.

Lynda came to me looking for me to take her logo and turn it into a hang tag. The first idea was to do just a dolphin shaped hang tag, unfortunately dolphins are too slim and she required to much information, so the hang tag would have had to been huge. So we did a die cut of her whole logo. Her logo is awesome but I did not design it, but that is ok, I pulled off a great hang tag. Lynda whole theme is so awesome, it is based on a dolphin named Cayo. The short story is on the hang tag. Also portions of your purchases go to helping dolphins around the world. LOL Yes that is the name of the company. It is awesome as well as the owner Shannon Allred. She was so sweet. Her and her sister started a clothing line that I am still dying to see. Just the name alone is so intriguing. Well I designed their labels and hang tags. It was much but I am so glad to be part of this line because I personally think it is going to do really well. Hey everyone,

I am proud to announce that I now have a freelance Illustrator doing work for me, YAY!! She is awesome and has already done a job for me that WOW'd the client. I am so excited to have her on board. You can read a little about Karen below as well as her credentials, help me keep her busy, I am loving having her on my team.

All my life I've loved color, composition, drawing and painting. Actually, I started out thinking about studying Sculpture at the Art School. When I finished high school it was a clear choice that graphic design was the right career for me, so I registered at the University "Cristobal Rojas" in Caracas Venezuela, where I am from, and got my college degree in Graphic Design. But I didn't stop there, I wanted to travel and to study abroad, and since I am 100% bilingual, after I graduated in 2003 I decided to come to Texas and I made my dream come true. I studied at "Collin County Community College" in Dallas Texas where I not only studied Graphic Design and Web Design but I also met my husband and the love of my life.

Currently I'm still in Texas, happily married and with a beautiful 9 month old baby girl. I work freelance as a Graphic Designer/Illustrator from home, which gives me the freedome to share my time between my family and the work that I've always loved.

Here is a layout I created using Linda's 2nd edition July Angels Chronicles. The kit has lots of elements with bright vibrant colors. I used it to create this layout with the pictures that I took of the girls on the 4th of July. I did a little experiment by using the motion filter on my camera. I came in contact with a gentleman named Tom is who starting a pet product line. He needed a design for his labels and had this design laidout. He new he wanted a nautical star and he new that he wanted the A on top of the star. And he also wanted an Antiquey feel to it as well. The problem that he was facing was the A was getting lost in the star.

So I came up with some digital samples but the same issues were coming up. The only solution was to put a lighter letter on the darker star.

Now that I have figure out the first problem, the next problem would be that the antiquey look that he was going for was probably not going to work in a woven label. So I designed a label for him with a solid background and it looks awesome!!! Tom absolutely loved the outcome! He asked around for some feedback and got the same feeling from everyone. Now we are working on his hang tag, I know he is eagerly awaiting the outcome, so back to work for me!!

As some of you may know I have had a website domain for ages that has just been sitting there because I just didn't know what to do with it. I was never happy with the layout and could not decide if I wanted it to be informational or e-commerce. Well I have finally decided to go with e-commerce and with everything that I offer I need sample pics, which I have to create myself. He does a fabulous job illustrating his clip art. There is a very very large selection of clip art which is absolutely adorable for teachers to use on their project sheets. I have been working on a logo for a guy named Carlos, he wants to start a clothing line called D.R.E.A.M, up to this point I was trying different techniques and pretty much playing with it. So now it is time to get down and dirty and get this logo done. He told me that he wanted a shield for his logo, but that was really the extent of it, so I am going into this design completely blinded. I looked up a couple different techniques and incorporated them into this design. I thought that the design was so creative and different that I thought he would love it for sure. Ummmmm nope, I didn't get what he was looking for. S0 unfortunately it is back to the drawing board but I just had to share cause I thought it was so cool!!!

For those of you who don't know, my husband is currently going to Lincoln Tech to become a Massage Therapist. He has been going since January and will graduate in December. It has been a struggle because he works full time and school is 4 nights a week. With me working weekends we never see each other. BUT...he is now 2 weeks from being able to do massages on his own and be able to get paid for them. We still have a long road to his actual completion of school but we're working through it.

Anyway one of his school projects was to design a brochure. Guess who got stuck doing it, LOL yup me. He got a 99 on it and when I asked him why not 100 he said the teacher NEVER gives out 100's because she feels that there is always room for improvement. WHATEVER!!!! Well here is the finished project. Oh and by the way he only gave me 2 days to complete it.

Designing for a Cause!!

I am always watching those tear jerking fundraiser shows that highlight all the adults and children that loose their lives everyday from not having proper medical care or money to get proper medical care. Last night while watching Idol Gives Back, I cried for hours. Not sure if it was hormones or my heart is just in a place where I feel that it is necessary to give back.
My heart breaks for these families, and even more so for the moms. As a mom I could not even imagine what it would be like to watch my child die from a horrible disease because there was no cure, or even because they could not afford medical insurance. I KNOW that it is the worst position that any Mother could ever be in. I pray to God that I will never have to be in their shoes.
I know for one that I am suffering from the economy being in the dumpster and I know I am not alone. I own Digital Creationz, work part time on weekends and answer phones for someone else Monday through Friday and my husband works full time and goes to school almost full time, and still barely managing. We donate $19 a month to St. Judes but would like to do so much more. Although we are doing what we can, I know we can do more. So I am implementing a program where 5 to 10% of all my sales through Digital Creationz will go to our favorite charity.
This will make such a huge difference in the life of a family.
So all you brave people who are starting business in this economy can give back too. You watch those shows as much as I do and you can't say that it doesn't move you. You want to give something but simply can't even think about parting with $5 or $10 to help. Well now you can. Just purchase something from my website and you will be giving back.

My original plan with this kit was to play with the masks, but Linda loved it so much she put it back in her stores. The picture is of the girls with fresh hair cuts. This was their first time ever getting really short do's.

Thank GOD for patient people!! Marcie Hoch was simply a pleasure to deal with and I appreciate her patience more than words could say. Marcie came to me to change her design into a label for her new line of clothing for children only to find out that the design was going to illegible when embroidered. We had to redesign her logo which was not such a simple task. Once someone has something specific in mind it is very difficult to get them to see something else, but Marcie had several different ideas in mind which made it very easy. We had lots of changes along the way but we finally came up with something that is absolutely adorable. I designed 2 different logos for Marcie, 1 for her labels and the second for stationary and her website.

This first one has the dark background with border. This will be simply beautiful for her clothing labels.

This is the transparent version. With this logo Marcie will be able to use it on just about anything. It is a little light, but it looks so elegant and matches perfectly with the French motif of her childrens clothing line.

This is the business card design that I designed for Marcie. This one was actually done on the fly. The final logo took a long time to complete and she was on a major time constraint, so we needed to throw something together for her to print pronto. Yes it is that time again, time for our annual easter egg decorating. It is a tradition most families carry on in their homes. Gabriella loves decorating eggs and this year we finally got Gionna interested. Next year without a doubt Gionna will participate. But she had a blast watching Gabriella and that was fine by me. Gabriella made a mess big enough for both of them LOL.

First I am going to start off with a layout I created using Linda's newest kit called Tinks Folly. It is a really cute kit with bright vivid colors. It was alot of fun to work with, in fact I am off to work on something else with it.

When I first contacted Erick he was very upset because he had contacted other designers and never got any responses back. I understood his frustrations due to the fact that he was on time constraints, so I quickly went to work on his label. I am not sure why he had such difficulty getting responses from other designers as his job was very simple to do, and he was a VERY pleasant man to work with. Basically Erick sent me his original and told me that he wanted to remove the crab and have just text.

I could not attach the original label because it was in a format that blog would not recognize, but this is the final product. I believe that Erick was very pleased with the outcome and I hope to be working with him on his hang tags and other projects in the near future.

After Kris was happy with all his logos and clothing labels we moved onto the business card. I don't recall Kris having a single clue as to what the business card should look like but after I showed him this sample he was so excited!!!

Kris was one of the very first customers that came to me from http://www.clothinglabels4u.com/. He explained to me what he wanted and exactly how he wanted it to look. I was able to come up with the almost exact same vision that he had for his logo. He actually wanted 2 different logo's in different colors.

First was this logo with just the letters, I designed this in red, black and white for different colored apparel.

Then there was the full name logo which was done in white and black as well.

Kris than wanted his hang tags to look like toe tags. At first I was like "How the heck am I gonna pull that off?" But guess what? Here is the final product. After I completed this hang tag and sent the sample to Kris his exact words were "OH MY GOD!!!! This one is the gonna be a money maker! This one is awesome, I got chills when I opened the e-mail. This one is great."

Kris was so much fun to work with. I have not heard from him about the business but I do hope that he is successful!!!!

The picture below is a photo taken with Kris and his guys in front of a banner that has the logo that I designed printed on it. Also the hat and the tshirts have the logo printed on them as well. This was by far my proudest moment as a graphic designer when I saw this picture. Sorry Kris I had to steal it, hope you don't mind!!!

Leonty came to me well over a year ago through http://www.clothinglabels4u.com/ to make his sketched out logo come to life. From there he wanted me to design the labels for his shirts and the patches and labels for the jeans that he was designing. He is a great guy to work with!! It is simply a pleasure working with him and I enjoy each and every time he contacts me for a new job.

This first image is the sketch that Leonty designed for his tshirts. I had to turn this sketch in a digital, print perfect image. This was not an easy task and took many hours to convert, but we got it! Finished logoThe following image is the sketched and scanned in image of what he wanted his patches, labels and rivets to look like for his jeans. He did eventually change is mind on the color of the stitching. And I can only imagine that the actual finished product is really cool.

This logo belongs to the Tri-County Titans previously known as the Stone Oak Titans. A very nice lady name Jeanette had the name changed on the original logo, however it was too small to enlarge and print on tshirts. So I responded to her cry for help on TheMomPack, sadly a couple of people had contacted her but never got back to her. Pretty sad because she stated that it was non-profit organization and all of a sudden no one wanted to deal with her anymore, I suppose. Anyway I made the changes that she needed and this is the way it turned out.

Hey everyone,

It has been a long time since I have designed anything for anyone. I have kind of lost a little interest in design since many people are looking for drawn images and I do not draw. So I am revamping the business. I will only be designing clothing labels, business cards, flyers, candy labels, brochures, newsletters etc. Logos will only be designed if it is text based. From this point on clip art or graphics will be used in my work. Unfortunately I had an opportunity to go to school, but I had to support my husbands education and I had to put my design school on the backburner for the moment.

I am truly sorry to anyone that this inconviences.

What a fun project this was!! Amanda was awesome to work with. Amanda contacted me needing clothing labels and a design for a vinyl banner which she was going to need for a craft show. I finally found a use for my animal fur effect, lol it was strictly experimental, but it turned out really cute. Amanda ordered a banner on a large scale, an etsy banner, business cards, hang tags and clothing labels. Amanda is my first returning customer, she needed revisions to her business cards. I am really excited about!!!

From Chunky to Hunky

This gentleman was simply a pleasure to work with. He had some health issues which caused him to loose some weight, which in turn came up with "From Chunky to Hunky". He had someone paint this image for him which he decided to trademark and make tshirts out of. The problem with this design was that he wanted a special type of label which required the label to be black and white, absolutely no gray. The problem lied with the blue "No" sign around the "C" in chunky, when changing to black and white this would get lost and ultimately not look right.

So I removed the image from the background and started all over again.

This was the delivered image for his label.
And of course he had to have a hang tag for his new tshirts. Again this was a sample, so the price is not accurate.

Bea Bartle-Kasparek owns her own animal farm. She makes her own fibers to make her own gifts. Bea has little resources but knew exactly what she wanted for her logo design. All I had to do was a little research and put it all together. Bea has no website as she runs her business in the area that she lives in. This design was one of my first big challenges. The client gave me a design that was created in Word. When brought into Paint shop it looked terrible. I needed to fix this artwork, turn it into a logo and then create the clothing labels. The labels consisted of a patch for the neckline on the back of the shirt as well as the inner label and hang tag. This was by far my best retouching job. At the time this job was completed the client had no website. Please do not email me with any questions regarding his clothing line as I will have no answers.This first image was the original brought in from a word document.
This image was the result of the removal of the logo and retouching.
This was the final outcome. This image was used as the patch in the back of the shirt.

This last image was the final copy for the hang tag.

This is what the actual finished label looked like. I was so excited to see the actual product embroidered.

This was another design that the client wanted to be able to enlarge the logo, but when enlarged, it pixelated horribly. The catch to this job was that the client wanted to remove the font from the logo to use a more legible font. After testing, most people could not read the font. We tried to get a more legible font, unfortunately the owners just could not get into another font, they were hooked on the original. This first image was their original blown up to 500 pixels.
This is how the logo turned out after the removal of the font and the clean up.And the final image is obviously how the job looked completed.

With this particular job I went through a middleman. I never spoke to the client nor do I have any idea how she felt about the way that her logo turned out. She wanted to enlarge her logo but it pixelated horribly. It was my job to try to clear up this logo as much as possible. It was far from my best job but it looks better now than it did before.

Knights of Columbus

Every year the Knights of Columbus hosts a Fish Fry during lent. This year I was asked to do the posters for it. The posters were to also have reminder tear offs which I designed as well. I had to recreate their logo because the only logo I had to work with was a jpg with a white background. The digital image of this poster does not do the original any justice. This was the first project that the Knights asked to me to do for them and I am hoping that they will ask me to design projects for them on a more regular basis because of the outcome of this poster.

These are a Hang Tag and Logo that I designed for Andrea at Beautiful Bambino. The bubbles will be removed from the logo and will be used for her clothing labels. The design of the hang tags were pictures removed from Andrea's website, there were so many cute ones but we finally came up with the perfect image. I removed the image from the website and then removed the background from the image for transparency. I gave Andrea several options for fonts and color arrangements and she picked out the perfect combo for her taste. For the logo I simply cut the middle section of the word Beautful, then pasted it higher so that Bambino fit into the box. All the colors were brought into the design directly from Andrea's website.

My name is Denise Alberino. I am currently a freelance Graphic Designer. I have created many designs for several different customers from business cards to window tints. I am currently taking courses in Graphic Design at Penn Foster College in hopes to get my associates degree in graphic design within the next 2 years.
